From Assessment to Trial, Are You on the Right Path Toward Optimal Functional Outcome
This workshop is aimed towards therapists that can complete a MAT evaluation and identify ROM but want to understand more about translating that information into identification and set up for trial. What does this information tell you? Identification of restriction of ranges, tone and optimal seated position are all essential parts of the seating prescription process but what next? How do you know what seating options will provide the best outcomes? How do you identify the right products to trial?
This workshop will be introduced with an overview of postural positioning in relation to a seated position. This includes integration of clinical findings and seating principles to identify points of control and optimal position in space . We will then work through the clinical reasoning process in a systematic approach and identify the product parameters required to meet identified needs.
Education level of course: Beginner – intermediate (This workshop can be used for beginners or graded to meet more experienced clinicians needs)
Total Time: ½ day intermediate / full day beginner which includes Practical MAT assessment training. ***An option to do a shorter MAT Lab as a stand alone workshop is also available***
By the end of the presentation, participants will be able to:
- Articulate the clinical reasoning process from identification of needs through to trial
- Discuss points of control in terms of product parameters
- Identify the crucial ranges in the MAT to guide postural support
